Srila Gopananda Bon Maharaj, from Himalaya, gave a beautiful Hari Katha relating the Damodar Lila, and verse by verse, he explained the Damodarastakam. He also showed the relation of the different rasas with Sri Krishna. Finally, he encouraged us all to practice our spiritual life and offer ghee lamps during this Kartik vrata.
Sriman Paramananda Das Prabhu, from Sri Guru Prapanna Ashram reported his seva in the publishing department, where he and other devotees are publishing a magazine honouring the 150th celebration of the divine appearance of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada. They will publish this magazine every month on Purnima. Also, they are compiling and publishing bulletins and books in English and Spanish languages with letters and commentaries of Srila Prabhupada, other vaisnavas and the biography of Jay Sree Gurumata. Sripad Bhakti Vedanta Govinda Maharaj, explained the importance of Kartik month, of parikrama, and the importance of focusing one’s consciousness while practicing spiritual life.
Srila Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj from Sri Radha Kund, and Vice - President of WVA, glorified Kartik vrata and how this special month it is connected and managed by Srimati Radharani for the service of Sri Krishna. He motivated everyone to recite the Siksastakam and read Bhajan Rahasya. Furthermore, due to the sad events that have occurred in recent days with the Vaisnava devotees in Bangladesh, he explained what is real modesty, according the words of Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhar Deva Goswami Maharaj and invited us to pray and make a call to governments to protect the devotees Vaisnavas in Bangladesh. He concluded by explaining the significance of the two fingers length of rope that were needed by Yasoda Ma to tie Damodar Krishna.
Sripad Bhakti Sundar Sadhu Maharaj from Austria, mentioned the devotees and Hindu community of Austria will go in sankirtan to protest the situation in Bangladesh. He gave a great importance to the Holy Name and sankirtan movement. He explained how by hearing Hari Katha the material world problems get minimized. He also spoke of the importance of remembering the beautiful pastimes of Damodar Krishna in this month of Kartik.
Sriman Isha Priya Prabhu from Russia mentioned how important it is to get together and hear from the devotees in this month of Kartik. He shared his opinion and understanding of the situation of the devotees in Bangladesh and he gave emphasis on the importance of saranagati and practice of sadhana. He requested the senior Vaisnavas to pray for our progress in spiritual life.
Srila B. A. Paramadvaiti Maharaj gave a report and commentary of his discussion with Govinda prabhu, who is the representative from the Hindu community in Bangladesh. He explained that as we defend the Vaisnavas, we have to be very careful to not be attacking Muslims or Islam in general, rather, we need to show how a certain group of ultra-violent people are making so much trouble and should be strongly punished according to their crimes. He also said that on account of Bangladeshi fanaticism for soccer, if someone would ask famous soccer players to appeal to the terrorists to stop their attacks it could help. He mentioned the importance of WVA - VVRS in helping devotees around the world by remembering some past events, he encouraged everyone to send a letter to the various embassies of the Bangladeshi government and request protection for Hindu minorities, not attacking Muslims or Islam, but asking protection for the rights of the devotees. Finally, he glorified the service of the devotees such as Paramananda Prabhu, Swami Vygnananda and the great personality of Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta on the importance of Kartik vrata.
